The Y is the proud owner of more than 85 beautiful antique tractors!
The YMCA of Easley, Pickens & Powdersville has received a generous donation that will be earmarked for a future Child Development & Training Center (CDTC) in the Powdersville-Wren community.
Jimmy Wilson has donated a collection of 85+ antique tractors that will be auctioned October 9. For more information about the event, please visit www.theYMCA.us/tractors
“The YMCA is one of the best things that’s ever happened to the Powdersville community,” Jimmy Wilson said. “We celebrate that we can play a small part in the YMCA’s growth by donating these great tractors to be auctioned.”
The CDTC will meet some of the most pressing needs by providing three core services:
- offer primary childcare for infants-4K, equipping children for Kindergarten, within a Christian worldview,
- training family who are serving as primary caregiver,
- provide support services to expecting & new mothers so there is a thriving support community for both mom & baby.
Mr. Wilson has amassed an impressive assortment of tractors, making his collection one of the top collections in the country. The tractors date back to as early as 1919.
The collection includes a Hart Parr 30, an IHC 8-16 Junior Kerosene, an International Harvester Titan 10- 20, a Case 18-32, more than 50 John Deere tractors and several other unique brands.
“This gift is an unbelievable blessing & we will use this to continue our mission in the community,” said Sid Collins, President & CEO. “We want to establish a new CDTC in Mr. Wilson’s honor so the lives of families will be impacted for years to come.”
